Global water award 2020

Kurita Water Industries Ltd. (Head Office: Nakano-ku, Tokyo; President: Michiya Kadota) is pleased to announce that it has been conferred with the Distinction Award in the "Water Company of the Year" category under the Global Water Awards 2020 organised by Global Water Intelligence (hereafter, "GWI") on October 8. This is the second time for Kurita to win this award following its recognition in 2017. Read also jet stream shower head.

Global Water Awards selects winning companies and projects based on the votes of subscribers to the Global Water Intelligence Magazine and Water Desalination Report issued by GWI, a global research and consulting firm for water treatment. Water Company of the Year is the top prize amongst the Global Water Awards, with the two water-related companies (one winner and one distinction) who achieved the most remarkable performance or superior business/service in the fiscal year anywhere in the world being recognised. Our Distinction Award this year is second only to the "Winner".

The awards ceremony was scheduled to be held at the Global Water Summit – a water business-related international conference – to be hosted by GWI, but the summit was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so this year, the results were presented online.

Our improved presence in the global market and reinforced global business foundation during fiscal 2019 following the purchase of manufacturing and sales companies handling water treatment chemicals and equipment in the USA, and handling water treatment chemicals for RO filters (Reverse Osmosis Membrane) in the UK, was highly evaluated.

Our strategic investment on an American venture that utilizes IoT to provide water-saving solutions, and the creation of new value by applying our technological competence, such as launching the development and demonstration of a water recycling technology demonstration system for the Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo" on the International Space Station were also cited as reasons for receiving the award.
